About Teamfight Tactics

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is an auto battler game developed and published by Riot Games. Serving as a spinoff of League of Legends and inspired by Dota Auto Chess, TFT pits players against seven opponents in online matches, with the goal of being the last one standing.

In June 2019, Teamfight Tactics was first introduced as a game mode within League of Legends for Windows and macOS, TFT later became a standalone game available on Android and iOS in March 2020, offering cross-platform play.

In TFT, players are presented with an eight-space board and are given a randomized selection of champions to choose from. They strategically place these champions on the board and can upgrade them to enhance their power. Collecting items throughout the game allows players to equip their champions, further bolstering their strength. The ultimate objective is to defeat the champions of other players through battles, aiming to secure the final victory.

TFT’s gameplay is both fast-paced and strategic, offering a relatively easy learning curve but requiring mastery to excel. With over 30 million players worldwide, it has gained immense popularity in the auto battler genre. The game boasts several notable features, including strategic gameplay that demands thoughtful decision-making in champion selection, itemization, and positioning.

The wide array of over 50 unique champions provides diverse options for team compositions and gameplay styles. The inclusion of random elements ensures that each match is distinct and unpredictable, keeping players engaged. Moreover, TFT supports both solo play and multiplayer experiences, enabling players to connect, chat, and form friendships within the game’s social features.

Teamfight Tactics Gameplay

Get ready for some thrilling Teamfight Tactics (TFT) gameplay! This game takes inspiration from Dota Auto Chess and pits eight players against each other in an epic battle to claim victory.

Picture a battlefield filled with hexagons, and players strategically placing their units on their side of the board between rounds. The battles are fast and furious, with two players randomly matched up each round or facing off against computer-controlled foes. Take down your opponents to earn gold, units, and powerful items that can turn the tide in your favor.

The game is divided into stages and rounds. Each stage has seven rounds (except for the first stage), including three rounds against computer-controlled enemies. Now, here’s where things get exciting—on the fourth round of each stage, we have the “Carousel” feature! It’s like a mini shopping spree, where you can select from a rotating selection of units with random items.

The players with the lowest health get first dibs, ensuring a fair chance for everyone. Oh, and don’t forget, on the last round of each stage, prepare to face off against those cunning computer-controlled enemies!

Gold is your lifeline in TFT. Earn it during rounds and be wise with how you use it. Save it to gain interest and boost your income per round. Winning or losing multiple rounds in a row can also impact your income. With your hard-earned gold, you can reroll the units in your shop or buy experience points to level up.

The higher your level, the more units you can deploy on the board, and trust me, that can make a huge difference. Find additional copies of the same unit to upgrade them, boosting their health and attack damage. Talk about leveling up your squad!

Units in TFT have health bars and mana bars (with a few exceptions, of course). They take damage from enemy attacks and abilities, which lowers their health but increases their mana. Once a unit’s health reaches zero, they’re out for the round. But when that mana bar fills up, brace yourself for a special ability to be unleashed. Some units may start with a bit of mana, but most begin each round with an empty bar, so timing is everything.

Now, let’s talk about synergies—those game-changing team compositions. Combining units with the same traits activates synergies that benefit your squad. Traits can strengthen your allies, weaken your enemies, or unleash miscellaneous effects. There’s a wide variety of synergies to explore, and the right combination can give you the edge you need to dominate the battlefield.

Keep in mind that TFT regularly updates its unit roster to keep things fresh and exciting. Every three months, there’s a mid-set update, where certain traits and units are rotated out to keep the gameplay balanced. And since TFT is a game mode of League of Legends, the patches follow the numbering system of its parent game.
