Super Mario Galaxy: How to Find All the Hidden Stars

Space Junk Galaxy – Tarantox’s Tangled Web – Yoshi’s Surprise Appearance
After navigating through a sequence of Pull Stars, players will land on a clear planet where a Hungry Luma awaits, requiring 50 Star Bits. Once the Luma is fed, it will create the Yoshi’s Surprise Appearance planet. Players must eliminate all the Goombas on Yoshi’s face to claim this star.
Battlerock Galaxy – Breaking into the Battlerock – Battlerock’s Garbage Dump
In this galaxy, players will encounter a planet made of red, yellow, green, and blue orbs with a bomb dispenser and rolling Chomps. By feeding 30 Star Bits to the Hungry Luma located on the yellow part of the planet, a new planet will be revealed. Here, players must use bombs to destroy a significant amount of garbage within a 30-second time limit.
Sling Pod Galaxy – A Very Sticky Situation
Feeding 400 Star Bits to the Hungry Luma outside the Fountain Dome will unlock this galaxy. Players will navigate through space using web-like Sling Pods to launch themselves around.
The Kitchen Dome also contains two Hidden Stars and one star reachable through the Dome’s Hungry Luma.
Beach Bowl Galaxy – Passing the Swim Test – Wall Kicking Up Waterfalls
To obtain this hidden star, players must start the level in the same manner as usual, by talking to the instructor and diving down to steal the golden shell. Using the shell to open a chest on the far side of the water will reveal a Launch Star that transports players to a planet of waterfalls. Players must utilize the Cataquack to reach the oversized coin at the beginning, initiating a series of actions that ultimately lead to the collection of the Power Star.
Ghostly Galaxy – A Very Spooky Sprint – Matter Splatter Mansion
Near the beginning of the level, players will encounter bats and Pumpkinhead Goombas on their way to the mansion. By breaking a glowing stalagmite, a Launch Star will be revealed, transporting players to the next planet where they must navigate through spotlights to reach the end and collect the Power Star.
Drip Drop Galaxy – Giant Eel Outbreak
Feeding the Hungry Luma that appears next to the Kitchen Dome 600 Star Bits will transform it. Players must use the shells found underwater to defeat the planet’s three Gringills (giant eels) and claim the Power Star.
The Bedroom Dome features three Hidden Stars and one with the Hungry Luma.
Gusty Garden Galaxy – Gusty Garden’s Gravity Scramble – The Golden Chomp
From the start of this level, players must collect all the oversized coins while riding a dandelion puff, which will grant them an invincibility star just before landing on the planet with the rolling Chomps. By smashing the Golden Chomp while invincible, players can collect this star.
Freezeflame Galaxy – The Frozen Peak of Baron Brrr – Conquering the Summit
Players must follow the designated path through this level until they acquire the first Ice Flower. Along the back wall of the pond where the flower is found, there are two fountains.
Prankster Comet Power Stars
In addition to the Hidden Stars, there are 24 Prankster Comet Power Stars scattered throughout the game. These Power Stars are associated with Prankster Comets, which introduce unique challenges to previously completed galaxies.
