What to Expect

At Central Baptist Church, we have a saying, “We love you, we’re praying for you and we are your family.” The church is not a place you go to, it’s a family you belong to. What you can expect from a visit to Central Baptist Church is to be treated like family. Whether you are a single or senior, a child or youth, married or single, there is a place for you in the CBC family.

Here are some frequently asked questions and answers:

“What should I wear?” Well, in the Central family, we are more interested in who you are than what you wear. But a simple guideline is: dress comfortably. On Sunday mornings, some people prefer to wear coats and ties or dresses; others prefer more casually attire with sports shirts, slacks or jeans. Both are perfectly acceptable. And - at our Sunday and Wednesday evening services, you’ll rarely find a coat and tie.

“How do I get there?” The Central Baptist Church campus is located at the corner of Russell Parkway and Lake Joy Road in Warner Robins. We are exactly 3 miles east of I-75 exit 144 and 1.8 miles west of Houston Lake Road. We have entrances into our property on Lake Joy and Hatcher Roads. Get Directions.

“Where do I park?” When you arrive on our campus, there is ample parking available. On Sunday mornings, we have yellow shirt volunteers available to direct you to the most convenient parking area, whether you are guests, parents with young children, or have limited mobility or handicap parking needs. There are also special transportation carts available to give you a ride from any part of the parking area to the front door.

“How can I find my way around?” Once inside our facility, you will be welcomed at the door by our red shirt volunteers. They are always ready with a smile, and information about where you can go and what you can do and answer any question you may have about our worship services, Bible study classes and other ministry activities. We invite you to register as a guest at one of our welcome stations throughout the facility.

“What about my children?” Again, you can expect us to treat your children like family. All of children’s workers at CBC have been selected for their love for children and have been screened with background checks. We strive to maintain a warm and secure environment for all our preschool and gradeschool children. All families are asked to register their children at one of the welcome stations in our preschool and children’s wing. If you have a newborn - age 2 child, you will be given a pager so that we can contact you at any time in case a need arises. Any child Grade 3 and under must be picked up by a parent. Grades 4-6 will be released after Sunday School, so you will want to choose a place to meet them.

We have many choices for children concerning Sunday School, Worship and other activities - including Kidz-Worship.

“Will I be expected to give money?” No. The Pastor always makes plain that guests are not asked to participate in offerings. Instead of wanting to get something from you, we want to give something to you!

“What are your worship services like?” On Sunday mornings, we have two choices. Our 9 a.m. service is more contemporary, with a praise band and team and casual atmosphere. Our 10:30 a.m. service is more traditional, with choir and orchestra. The pastor preaches the same message at both services - a message designed to teach the Bible and encourage people in practical ways to live life on purpose.

“What do you believe?” Central Baptist Church is a congregation of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is God’s only Son and the way to abundant life on earth and eternal life in heaven. We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and perfect revelation to us in written form and is to be both studied and lived out in daily life. We believe God’s five purpose for the church are worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. For a summary version of our beliefs, please visit What We Believe on this site. We are affiliated nationally with the Southern Baptist Convention, in our state with the Georgia Baptist Convention and locally with the Rehoboth Baptist Association.
