Some of Central's Missions are Literacy Missions, Language Missions, Migrant Health Fair, International Mission Partnerships, Medical Missions, and other mission trips.
The purpose of Literacy Missions at CBC is to help people from various countries and language groups learn to speak English. Some of the countries from which we had students are Argentina, Bangladesh, Bolivia, China, El Salvador, Guatemala, India, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Primary purpose is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. A devotional is given during the group breaktime. The gospel is presented in ways for the sudent to understand that God loves them. We offer English closses for non-English-speaking-students. This ministry also offers Citizenship Preparation Classes. The classes typically meet on Tuesday morning. The starting dates usually follow the Houston County School Calendar. There are usually two main International social events each year: Christmas and the end of the school year.
Central Baptist church sponsors three Language Missions. These missions began from our Literacy Missions ministry. The three Language Missions are the Filipino American Christian Fellowship, the Hispanic Mission, and the Vietnamese Central Baptist Mission. The most recent mission, the Vietnamese Central Baptist Mission began in September 2003. The Mission called their first pastor in August 2004. Pastor Dang served vietnamese Churches in San Diego, New Orleans, and Atlanta. Pastor Dang also served in Cambodia with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. Worship services are offered in Mandarin during the month.
